While it maintains a familiar exterior—something we’re really pleased about—it ensures that the Framework Laptop 13 remains fully upgradeable and repairable in a sleek 13.5” design. This means that even if you own an earlier 11th Gen Intel Core version, you can seamlessly upgrade to the latest tech with new modules. We’ve also retained all the fantastic updates from the previous generation, including a robust 61Wh battery and the option for a stunning 2.8k 120Hz 13.5” 3:2 matte display.

The standout feature here is undoubtedly the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, delivering a remarkable boost in performance. Utilizing Zen 5 CPU cores along with Radeon RDNA 3.5 graphics, this lineup offers 6-core Ryzen 5 and 8-core Ryzen 7 configurations, plus an exciting new Ryzen 9 HX 370 option with 12 CPU cores that can reach boosts of up to 5.1GHz and 16 GPU cores. This level of graphics performance is incredible for an ultraportable laptop, allowing you to enjoy modern gaming titles with impressive framerates—something that previously required a discrete GPU. Plus, with a powerful 50 TOPS NPU, it supports Copilot+ and a growing list of ROCm-compatible open-source AI tools.

On top of the powerful performance, we’ve ensured the system runs quietly and stays cool with a revamped thermal system that includes a large 10mm heatpipe and Honeywell’s amazing PTM7958 phase change thermal interface material. The Mainboard still accommodates two slots for DDR5-5600 memory, expandable to 96GB, plus a PCIe 4 M.2 2280 storage slot that supports up to 8TB. We’ve also upped the connectivity with Wi-Fi 7 through AMD’s RZ717 module. Lastly, the four Expansion Card slots have been enhanced: the rear two now support USB4, while the front two handle USB 3.2 and DisplayPort, offering the ability to connect up to four displays simultaneously.

One of the exciting updates we’re introducing is with our all-new second-generation keyboard. We’ve maintained the fantastic 1.5mm key travel that feels great to type on, and collaborated with Lite-On to enhance the structure of the wider keys like the spacebar and shift key. This means you’ll experience a reduction in buzzing when your speakers are cranked up. For those opting for our pre-built configurations loaded with Windows 11, we’ve also refreshed the keyboard artwork to include a dedicated Copilot key. We’re also thrilled to unveil expanded color customization options. Yes, transparency is making a comeback in consumer electronics! We’re rolling out new injection molding tooling to bring back the Translucent Bezel, and along with it, we’re adding exciting new colors: Translucent Purple, Green, and Black. To complement these, we’ve created a new range of Translucent USB-C Expansion Cards. The overall look is stunning and harks back to a golden era of consumer electronics design.
