The Hyundai Creta Electric was officially launched in India on Thursday, concluding months of anticipation. Beginning on January 17, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 will feature the electric vehicle (EV). Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) states that the Creta Electric is the company’s first locally produced electric SUV and will be positioned behind the Ioniq 5 in the Indian EV lineup. Aero alloy wheels, linked LED lights on the front and rear, and active air flaps (AAF) are also included.
Hyundai wants to compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and the future Maruti Suzuki e Vitara in the mid-size electric SUV market with Creta Electric.
Date of the Hyundai Creta Electric’s Launch
The Hyundai Creta Electric will make its debut during the January 17–22 Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. There will be four different models of the five-seater EV: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Eight monochromatic and two dual-tone color options, including three matte colors, will be available from Hyundai.
Features of the Hyundai Creta Electric
With similar visual components including a pixelated graphic front grille, front and rear bumper, pixelated LED reverse lamp, and LED tail lamps, Hyundai claims that the Creta Electric takes design cues from its internal combustion engine (ICE) predecessor. For improved aerodynamics and range, it has 17-inch aero alloy wheels with Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) tires. The AAF system on the Creta Electric has been thoughtfully incorporated to control airflow, maintain the cooling of the vehicle’s components, and enhance aerodynamic performance.

Customers can select between two battery pack configurations when buying the EV: 42kWh and 51.4 kWh (Long Range). The Creta Electric equipped with a 42kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 390 kilometers, whereas the long-range variant is reported to deliver an impressive range of up to 473 kilometers on a single charge.. With DC charging, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes, and with the 11kW Smart Connected Wall Box charger (AC charger), it can be charged from 10% to 100% in four hours.
Hyundai did not discuss the EV’s drivetrain, but the Creta Electric (Long Range) will accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in under 7.9 seconds. The Creta Electric is packed with technology, just like the ICE Creta. Because of its Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, the EV can power both indoor and outdoor external equipment. Additionally, it features i-Pedal technology, which enables drivers to stop, accelerate, and slow the car with simply the accelerator pedal.
The shift-by-wire technology on the Creta Electric eliminates the need for a mechanical link between the gearshift and the transmission in favor of electrical connections for increased convenience. The driving experience is said to be more futuristic as a result.
Creta Electric: Design
The design of the electric version will closely mirror that of the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant of the Creta, with several design features shared between the two models. Nevertheless, the Creta Electric incorporates distinct elements to differentiate itself. The front and rear connected LED lighting fixtures are reminiscent of those found on the ICE model. Below the connected headlights, vertically arranged LED lamps are present. Additionally, the Creta Electric features a sealed grille and aerodynamic 17-inch alloy wheels.
